Writings from Dushna pasha - Pasture of the soul

Written by bishop baraga

The sorrowful Mother Mary speaks to the soul:
Oh! Dear soul, beloved bride of Jesus! Come to me and
look upon your loving bridegroom lying in my lap. See what his
wicked enemies have done to him. Look at the deep wounds in his
hands and feet; look at his holy head, pierced and wounded from
the crown of thorns. Look here at his pierced side, at the long and
deep stab wound. – Oh! Think, dear soul! How my beloved Son
Jesus suffered for you! – Oh! How sorrowful is my heart! A sharp
sword pierces it whenever I think about how my beloved Son had
to suffer, and how few people truly turn his bitter suffering into
salvation. – O dear soul! Protect yourself from such dreadful
ungratefulness. Protect yourself from sin, which so horrifically
wounded and killed my Jesus. Oh, especially protect yourself from
ever unworthily receiving Holy Communion, so you do not place
the wounded and crucified Jesus in my lap once again! –

The soul replies to the sorrowful Mother of Jesus:

O dear mother of my beloved bridegroom Jesus! Oh! What
a sea of bitter sorrows engulfs you! – Your loving eyes want to
drown in bitter tears. A sharp sword penetrates your sorrowful
heart, and you intensely feel all the pains with which your Jesus
ended his life. – Yes, you really are the queen of all martyrs, for no
one has ever suffered so much! – Sorrowful mother Mary! Pray to
Jesus for me, that he gives me graces to never again repeat his
suffering and your sorrow. May I very carefully guard myself from
all sin, always very worthily receive him in Holy Communion, and
faithfully serve him and you to the end of my life. –
Glory, praise and love to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament,
now and forever. Amen.
Our Father…Hail Mary…Glory Be…
