Writings from Dushna pasha - Pasture of the soul
Written by bishop baraga
Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament speaks to the soul:
The heart of my bride must be full of fire and pedigree.
This fire is the burning love for me. It destroys everything that goes
against my faith, and desires only that I am worshipped and loved
by all people. – O how true love mourns whenever I am scorned.
And whenever someone unworthily receives Communion, I am
similarly kicked and beaten like the time I fell to the ground under
the weight of my heavy cross. – You beloved soul, my beloved
bride! You must be full of fervent love so you may always receive
me worthily, rejoice, and once again rise up from my fall. – May
your light thus shine so others might learn from your good
behavior how to protect themselves from falls and how to prepare
to worthily receive the Holy Redeemed Body.
The soul replies to Jesus:
O dear Jesus! You came down to earth to light the fire. –
You alone are the living fire of eternal love, concealed in the Most
Blessed Sacrament. O divine fire! Burn in me, ignite my heart, give
me that burning and bright light so that all my deeds will be
pleasing to you, and capable of inflaming passion in others and
thwarting them from evil. – O my Jesus! How my heart suffers
because I see how you are scorned, rejected, and kicked by so
many ungrateful souls through the receipt of unworthy
Communions65! For I see that many other undying souls, created
for heaven and redeemed by your most precious blood, make haste
directly into the eternal fire! – O Jesus! I humbly ask you to guard
me from all sin, especially from an unworthy Communion! Also
protect all Christian souls, for whom you so dearly paid with your
own Most Holy Redeemed Blood; protect them from the horrible
sin of unworthily receiving you66! Ignite and preserve in them the
fire of your love, so they will flee the fire of hell! O Jesus! You
redeemed us from eternal damnation. Give us grace to wholly
partake in your endless worthiness.
Glory, praise and love to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament,
now and forever. Amen.
Our Father…Holy Mary…Glory be…
