Monthly Prayer Intentions
Inspired by the teachings of Bishop Frederic Baraga

June Prayer Intentions
June 1 – For those suffering from depression or any mental illness.
June 2 – For all teens that they may successfully navigate our ever-changing world.
June 3 – For all those unemployed. That they may find a position that utilizes their skills and helps them address their financial needs.
June 4 – That we may “pray continually and never cease.” – Bishop Baraga
June 5 – For respect for our environment.
June 6 – For healing for all that have been hurt by others.
June 7 – That we repent for our sins through the sacrament of confession.
June 8 – “Come, Holy Spirit, and fill my heart with your fire. Renew my spirit, awaken your gifts within me, and burn away my fears and doubts”.
June 9 – That we may ensure our life is void of sloth, using Bishop Baraga as our role model, who often worked from 4 am to 10pm to bring the faith to those in his missions.
June 10 – For all who are persecuted for their faith.
June 11 – For an end to war and peace in the world.
June 12 – That you are all “faithful in the fulfilling of your duties toward God, and God will reward you for it in his heavenly kingdom.” – Bishop Baraga.
June 13 – May we all focus on serving and loving the poor.
June 14 – That we always remember “Unum es Necessarium” – Bishop Baraga’s episcopal motto – “Only One Thing is Necessary” – to love and serve the Lord.
June 15 – That we may grow in virtue.
June 16 – For those who will die this day and night and for peace and comfort for their loved ones.
June 17 – For those recovering from addiction of any kind.
June 18 – For the ability to put our screens away and be present with those around us.
June 19 – For an end to human trafficking.
June 20 – For our seminarians.
June 21 – For all fathers that they may be blessed with wisdom, patience and the ability to provide for their family.
June 22 – For respect, peace and healing for all Indigenous People.
June 23 – For a strong prayer life. “Life is short, death is certain, all the rest is uncertain; therefore, be vigilant and pray”
June 24 – For detachment from material items. “(Mortal) things will imprison, own and torment (us)” – Bishop Baraga.
June 25 – For all travelers, that they may reach their destinations safely.
June 26 – For all who are struggling in their vocation or employment.
June 27 – For all diocese and parishes who may experience change in leadership, that they will accept the changes for the Glory of God.
June 28 – May our hearts be transformed to align with the will of God.
June 29 – For Bishop Frederic Baraga (Date of Birth: June 29, 1797).
June 30 – For perseverance. “Don’t be discouraged, but push forward with energy and confidence.” – Bishop Baraga.

May Prayer Intentions
May 1 – For child like faith. That we may trust in the Lord with all our might.
May 2 – We pray for peace, comfort, and strength for all those who have lost loved ones.
May 3 – For blessings and answered prayers.
May 4 – For all missionaries. “A missionary must always have a happy heart.” – Bishop Baraga.
May 5 – For the homeless or anyone who may find themselves sleeping outside. May they be protected from the elements. Bishop Baraga spent many nights sleeping out in the elements on his travels to his missions.
May 6 – For anyone feeling alone or isolated. Bishop Baraga had numerous times in his life he felt isolated. He turned to the Lord for company and comfort.
May 7 – For those effected by domestic violence.
May 8 – For humility. “Examine yourself carefully; let not some pride or hidden ambition deceived you of virtue, be humble before God.” -Bishop Baraga
May 9 – For those paralyzed by fear and anxiety.
May 10 – For all mothers living and deceased.
May 11 – To eliminate distractions from my life that separate me from God.
May 12 – For all the babies that will be born today.
May 13 – For the intentions we hold deep in our hearts.
May 14 – Lord, that I may live today according to your will.
May 15 – For all those suffering from natural disasters.
May 16 – For truth in the media industry.
May 17 – “That we may enter church with holy thoughts and purposes.” – Bishop Baraga (Heavenly Flowers).
May 18 – Pray to be a true disciple in word and action.
May 19 – That we may offer grace to everyone we encounter today.
May 20 – For our seminarians.
May 21 – For the gift of life.
May 22 – For those experiencing marital discord, that their relationship will be repaired and hurts will be healed.
May 23 – For all those who have fallen away from their faith, that they will return to their faith and restore their relationship with Jesus.
May 24 – May “the Tabernacle remind you about Jesus’ present as He is always present in our midst in the Blessed Sacrament.” -Bishop Baraga (Heavenly Flowers)
May 25 – For those that gave their life so that we might live, for all active-duty military, and for peace in our world.
May 26 – For those experiencing physical ailments that are interfering with the activities of their daily living.
May 27 – For a heart of gratitude.
May 28 – For those suffering from any phobia. That they may find peace and a relief from the anxiety they are experiencing.
May 29 – That we make time to visit the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.
May 30 – For the hungry.
May 31 – To practice kindness and find joy in the moment.
